YouTube: An overview of the video portal apps

YouTube has grown and consists of different areas. In order not to lose the overview, these areas are now designated and subdivided as apps. You can access the respective areas directly via the YouTube website. A button is available for this.

The YouTube apps cover everything from music to gaming streams to content for kids.

YouTube: apps at a glanceSince its founding in 2005, YouTube has become the leading video platform in the world. Today, the Google service is diversified and individual apps are the mainstays. When you open YouTube in your browser, you will see a grid button with 3×3 dots in the top right next to the search field. If you click on it, you will see the YouTube apps.

• YouTube TV: This online service is a paid video-on-demand and streaming offer. US broadcasters in particular are supported.
• YouTube Music: This is a music streaming service that you can access through the app.
• YouTube Kids: Here you will find special content for children only. Parents must set up this application beforehand.
• Creator Academy: With this app you will find various courses that help you, for example, to develop your content.
• YouTube for Artists: This application is aimed primarily at artists.

It is possible that this division will soon be expanded or fundamentally changed, as YouTube is currently growing in many directions. However, this is unlikely to change much in terms of the existing services, as these are established categories with many millions of users.
