Xiaomi is working on its own stick with which you can turn your TV into a ‘smart TV’ that runs on Android TV. Images, specs and the suggested retail price of the Mi TV Stick have now been leaked.
Xiaomi is competing with Google’s Chromecast stick. In the teaser above, we see the tiny Xiaomi Mi TV Stick along with a remote control. Details from the online stores AliExpress and Gearbest show that Xiaomi wants to introduce two variants. The first can stream with a Full HD resolution and has a 2.0 GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM and 8GB storage space. This version costs about 58 euros at the web shops. Please note that these prices are probably not official.
However, there is also a more expensive version. It is equipped with a quad-core Amlogic S905Y2 processor, 2GB RAM, 8GB storage space and support for 4K streaming. The more expensive version is in the store for about 120 euros. Both versions run on a version of Android TV that is based on Android 9 (Pie).
It is still unclear when Xiaomi will introduce the Mi TV Stick, but according to GearBest, the web store can ship the device between June 29 and July 7.
