The new Snapdragon 7150 and 6150 are leaked, what will these mid-range chips look like?

We know that Qualcomm is working on new chips for the mid-range, the Snapdragon 7150 and Snapdragon 6150. Both will come to market with 8 cores and manufactured in a 11nm processDo you want to know more about them?

We have been hearing for some time that the new Snapdragon 855 could have the name Snapdragon 8150. This could make Qualcomm processors for PCs have a different nomenclature than processors for smartphones.

Snapdragon 7150 and Snapdragon 6150, do they bring news?

Now, thanks to some GitHub repositories, we know that these processors, codenamed SM7150 and SM6150, will make the leap to the new nomenclature. They are the new 600 series and 700 series processors.

These new chips, with 8 cores, could contain nuclei Cortex A-76 and Cortex A-55, the latest ARM cores. We cannot forget that the Snapdragon 760, 675 and 710 have opted for 2 powerful cores and 6 weak ones. It would not be surprising if the new generation rode for something similar.

The Snapdragon 6150 will be a mid-range

It is possible that the new Snapdragon 6150 is a processor with rather poor hardware, because we cannot forget that the power of 600 series processors varies a lot from each other. A Snapdragon 636 has little or nothing to do with a Snapdragon 660, for example.

Of the leaked evidence it is known that the Snapdragon 7150 is using a phone with a QHD + screen and 18: 9 format. As for the Snapdragon 6150, it uses a Full HD + screen and 18: 9 format. That means that the first would be aimed at being one step behind the high-end Qualcomm processors. The second, however, would be designed for the mid-range, being cheaper.

Qualcomm’s new mid-range will have more processors

Another of the leaked processors, via a profile of an Oppo employee on LinkedIn, suggests that there will also be an SM7250 (Snapdragon 7250). We don’t know anything more about this processor than the name, but it could be a new entry for the 700 series.

We are still waiting for Qualcomm to release the Snapdragon 845 update. Everything indicates that we will see the Snapdragon 855/8150 on next month. Will it be as powerful as the latest Apple chips thanks to 7nm?
