PlayStation 4 is close to updating its system to version 7.00. There are still several weeks for this update to be effective for all users, but we have already known some news that will come with this patch thanks to the beta version of it. One of the main changes is related to the voice groups that we can create with our friends, as well as the quality of them.
The last big update before PlayStation 5?
Speaking of which, it is inevitable that we remember PlayStation 5, and we continue without much news about the future Sony console. It is rumored that it will be launched at the end of 2020, as will happen with Project Scarlett. But for now, we will have to be patient for the guys at Sony to confirm the news officially. For now, the company will be in charge of updating the PlayStation 4 to version 7.00. As of today (July 26), users can enjoy version 6.72.
The main change seems to be related to voice groups. Currently, players can create groups of up to 8 players. After version 7.00, users will have the opportunity to make groups of up to 16 people. Multiplayer games are on the rise, and as the years go by, playgroups are broader. Therefore we think that it makes sense that Sony has decided to expand the number of players in voice groups. In this sense, we have also known that the sound quality of these voice groups will improve after applying the update.
Another change that will come with this update to version 7.00 seems to be related to future console updates. Nowadays, every PlayStation 4 update involves a reboot from the console itself. After the new version, it seems that not all will require this Hardware reset, and that can be applied once they are downloaded automatically.
Brightness settings for HDR displays
On the other hand, we have also known that those users who have screens that support HDR, will have the opportunity to change brightness and darkness settings through the console itself. This affects games and also various video player applications such as Netflix.
We repeat that this version 7.00 is in the testing phase, and at the moment, we do not know when it will become effective. We imagine that it will not take long to reach our consoles.
What do you think of the changes in version 7.00 of PlayStation 4? Did you expect any more substantial news? What would you like to see improved?
