Differences between the new PS4 CUH-1100 and the old CUH-1000

Let’s take a look at the changes

If you’ve been wondering what the difference between the PS4 models is, the Japanese Pocketnews blog has made a comparison.

The power consumption of the console models is more or less the same. Both in stand by mode and fully switched on, the devices consume the same amount of power. The newer model is 50 grams lighter.

The motherboard of the new model is marked SAB-001, while the old one was SAA-001. Below you can see the new album from both sides.

The plates differ in one thing. In the older model, there was a two-phase circuit between the power supply and the CPU and a four-phase circuit between the power supply and the GPU. In the new model, they are single and three-phase.

The APU designation has changed, but because of the same number, it means that the unit itself is identical.

The wi-fi antenna has also changed, as it should generate less electromagnetic noise.

Summing up, there are some changes, but these are natural changes, the purpose of which is to reduce production costs. So you don’t have to run to the store to replace your consoles.
