There have been many tricks from brands like Samsung and Huawei to create a quick way to mute calls by flipping the phone, which Google also adopted. However, the last way to silence calls is somewhat similar to OnePlus, which offers a unique alert slider to put the device into silent or custom mode right away.

With Android 9 Pie’s ring prevention feature, you can easily use the power and volume up button to silence the ringing phone. Although the feature does not work when the screen is off, like the OnePlus alert slider, it is very useful in a professional or private environment where you need to silence a phone call immediately.

  1. From the home screen of your Android device, go to the section Setting .
  2. Navigate to Sound .
  3. Look for the tab Shortcut to avoid ringing in the Sound menu.

  5. Select whether you want the action to cause Vibration , Silence , or Do nothing .

  2. Navigate to Digital well-being .
  3. The main menu gives you a pie chart view of how you use your smartphone each day.
  4. Tap on the button Notifications to see which apps notify you the most, and then you can set a timer for each of the apps to stop those distracting notifications.
  5. The characteristic Wind down allows you to set a schedule Night light , Activate Grayscale periodically and enable Do Not Disturb for certain hours of the night.
  6. The characteristic Dashboard allows you to configure a Timer for the apps you use the most, after which the app pauses for the rest of the day.

Emergency shutdown immediately

Clock and Battery Quick Start

Since the bigger and more glamorous features of Android 9 Pie can keep the spotlight, it’s easy to look past the little elements worth mentioning. For example, the fact that we constantly need to open the Clock app to set alarms or create timers is often overlooked, but Google has made it easier to access.

From any screen on your Android device, you can go to the Clock application directly from the drop-down window. All you need to do is slide down on the screen and tap Time on the upper left corner from the screen. This will immediately redirect you to the Clock app on your Android Pie device.

The best part is that you can use this same quick navigation action to see the Battery section of the Settings app right away.
